In association with Severn Trent Water, Utile were selected to partner Response Engineering to deliver the Biogas Mixing Systems in the two new Anaerobic Digester Tanks installed at Limerick Main Drainage Plant in Limerick, Ireland as part of their Sludge Processing upgrade.

The scope of works was to design, build, deliver, supervise install by Response, test and commission 2No. duty/standby gas compressor packages and tank mixing systems for continuous diffuser feed in the Anaerobic Digesters.

The Utile continuous anaerobic, diffused leaf spring, gas mixing system was bespoke designed to fit the new 2750m3 AD tanks. With their advanced design capabilities and manufacturing techniques Utile were able to deliver the gas mixing systems in “kit” form, allowing installation in Ireland by the main contractor Response Engineering, with minimal supervision only by Utile, thus reducing the cost to the client.

It comprised a duty/standby Utile Model L240HP sliding vane, gas compressor package with cross over pipework to deliver biogas at an elevated pressure of 1.1bar(g) to each of the 9 feed leaf spring diffuser gas mixing systems with high level manifold and top plate assembly.

The project was delivered and installed in February 2016 with successful commissioning in June 2016.
