Third contract for compressors

A county engineering firm has won a contract worth £780,000 to supply the Daewoo Corporation of South Korea with gas compressors for sewage treatment.

Utile Engineering of Irthingborough, is celebrating achieving its third major contract to supply digester gas mixing systems to the Far Eastern giant.

Director Tim Poole said: “The systems will all be installed at the Gulpocheon sewage treatment plant, making it the largest site of its type in South Korea.

The contract, in four phases, will be completed in 1999 and will involve the supply of 16 water-cooled gas compressor sets.
