Modern Slavery & Human Trafficking
The Utile Engineering Company Ltd is a family run business that has been in existence for over 100 years. Our labour turnover rate is very low and testament to our management practices which include lack of discrimination, safe and hygienic working conditions, fair pay, full compliance with employment legislation, and full exercise of our duty of care to our employees.
We are exempt from the Modern Slavery Act by virtue of having a turnover significantly below the threshold at which it becomes necessary to annually produce and publish a slavery and human trafficking statement.
We do not employ anyone under school leaving age, nor anyone that could be considered to be forced to work.
Our suppliers are UK or Europe based producers and, to the best of our knowledge, are not agents for goods produced in low wage economies.
